Verse of the Day: Psalm 84:6 NKJV
“As they pass through the Valley of Baca, They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools.”
The comfort we receive in times of trouble can often serve as a source of encouragement for others, just as wells dug by one person can provide water for those who follow. When we read a book or hear a word filled with encouragement, it feels as though someone else has been through a similar struggle and prepared this well of hope for us. Many of the Psalms, especially those that begin with questions like, "Why are you cast down, O my soul?" have become such wells for weary travellers on life’s difficult journey.
While we may dig the wells of comfort through prayer, worship, or reading Scripture, it is God who fills them with His grace. We put in the effort, but the true blessing comes from above. The rain from heaven fills the wells we prepare, reminding us that our work is never enough on its own. Just as a horse may be prepared for battle, but victory is in God’s hands, so our efforts need the touch of His grace to be truly effective.
Grace, like rain, is pure, refreshing, and life-giving, coming only from above and given at God’s will. We can work hard, but without God’s blessing, our efforts are like empty pools waiting to be filled. May God pour out His blessing on us, filling the wells we dig with the living water of His grace.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that all our efforts are in vain without Your grace. Fill the wells of comfort we have dug with Your life-giving rain, and let Your blessings overflow in our lives. Pour out Your grace on us, that we may be refreshed and refreshed others.
