Treasuring Christ Above All

Verse of The Day: Psalm 27:4 NKJV

“One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.”

Christ desires that His people hold Him in the highest regard, seeing Him not only as necessary but as precious and supremely beautiful. He reveals Himself as the “pearl of great price,” “the rose of Sharon,” and “the lily of the valleys,” inviting us to savour Him not only for His saving work but for His unmatched beauty and greatness.

When we think highly of Jesus, our hearts are moved to worship and to yield joyfully to His authority in our lives. Heaven knows His worth—the angels worship Him unceasingly, and the redeemed sing His praises without end. When we consider how God exalts His Son and how heaven itself is captivated by Him, our hearts are stirred to a deeper love and reverence. We grow in our faith and devotion as we meditate on His eternal glory, His sacrificial love, and His triumphant power over sin and death. By beholding Christ’s beauty and majesty, we find our love for Him strengthened and our lives better aligned with His purposes.

In lifting our thoughts to the majesty of Christ, we are filled with a joy and love that transforms our hearts and lives.
