Verse of the Day: Psalm 42:1 NKJV
“As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.”
The psalmist paints a vivid picture of a deer panting for streams of water, a scene that reflects a natural thirst heightened by the heat of summer or the chase of hunters. The deer, in its desperate need, seeks water both to quench its thirst and to find refuge. This intense longing and cry for water mirrors the psalmist's deep desire for communion with God.
The urgent need off ur soul should be the enjoyment of fellowship with God. Communion with the Almighty is not just a luxury but an absolute necessity, akin to water for a parched deer. Just as a traveler in the desert must drink or die, we must have God or faint.
Do you feel an intense longing for God's presence in your life? In what ways can you prioritise seeking God above all other pursuits and desires?

Prayer
Father, like the deer pants for streams of water, so our souls long for You. We confess that nothing else can satisfy our deepest needs and desires but Your presence. Help us to seek You earnestly, to long for You always.
