Verse of the Day: James 1:5-8 NKJV
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
Wisdom is needed to attain perfection through patience. The perfect man is the one lacking nothing - the one whose character have being built through patience. The season of trials is one that requires wisdom. Wisdom is needed to make right decisions especially when under pressure. If anyone therefore sees need for wisdom in order to attain this perfection, James said he/she should ask God.
James’ instruction is clear - ask God and not man. God gives wisdom to all liberally. God will give enough wisdom you need to navigate the season of trial so you can become perfect. Do not doubt God’s ability to give you wisdom because of the pressure you are facing. He desires to give you liberally. All you need to do is to ask in faith. When you doubt God’s ability to give you wisdom, then you turn to man. Some don’t even get to the point of asking God, they go to man. It is important to go to God in prayer and to ask in faith.
