Verse of the Day: James 1:2-3 NKJV
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.”
The idea of writing tests is not strange to students. It is part of their learning. Test is an avenue for students to show what they know and what they are capable of doing. Tests help to reveal the strengths and weaknesses of students.
Trials are part of the christian journey. They are inevitable. As Christians, we cannot wish or pray them away. It is important to learn what trials are and how to handle them. According to James, trials are tests of our faith. It is not enough to say you have faith. Your faith will be tested. Remember, faith comes through knowledge (hearing the Word of God). The test of your faith is the test of what you know of God’s word and how you are able to apply it.
In the parable of the Sower, Jesus talked about the seed that fell on the stony ground. They had no root in themselves and couldn’t endure persecution or affliction when it arose. Storms will come to check how much the word is rooted in our hearts. It is a learning process we must all go through.
How do you respond to trials? Are deeply rooted is the word of God in your heart?
