Verse of the Day: Ecclesiastes 9:4 AMPC
“[There is no exemption] but he who is joined to all the living has hope—for a living dog is better than a dead lion.”
Life, in any form, is a gift far greater than death, and this truth is especially profound in spiritual matters. Even the smallest spark of grace in the kingdom of God is infinitely better than the greatest achievements without it. The Holy Spirit’s work in a believer’s heart is a treasure beyond anything this world can offer. The thief on the cross, though condemned by society, was more blessed than an emperor; the beggar Lazarus, more precious in God's sight than any renowned philosopher. Spiritual life is the mark of true worth in God’s kingdom, and those without it, no matter how refined or accomplished, are still spiritually dead.
Just as a living dog is more useful than a dead lion, so too is the simplest gospel message, filled with the Spirit’s life, far more powerful than the most eloquent speech without God's presence. A heartfelt but humble prayer is more pleasing to God than grand religious performances that lack sincerity. When the Holy Spirit breathes life into our prayers, worship, and acts of service, they become acceptable offerings to God, no matter how small they seem to us.
It's far better to struggle with living faith, even through groans and sighs, than to have a faith that appears impressive but is lifeless. A faith that doesn’t stir the heart, or a religious life that lacks the Spirit’s power, is of no value. May God awaken us, revive our hearts, and fill our lives with His living presence!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, breathe Your life into us. Awaken our hearts to Your Spirit, and fill our faith, prayers, and worship with Your power. Let our service be living and pleasing in Your sight, no matter how simple. Keep us from lifeless religion, and draw us deeper into the fullness of Your grace.
