Verse of the Day: Philippians 3:8 NKJV
“Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ.”
To truly know Christ is a personal experience that no one else can have for us. We cannot rely on another’s relationship with Jesus to sustain our own faith. Instead, we must come to Him ourselves and seek Him with our hearts. This knowledge is not just intellectual, but a deep, heartfelt understanding that comes from time spent with Him and a desire to grow in love and obedience.
When we seek to know Christ, it is important to know Him as He is revealed in Scripture, not based on human ideas or imagination. His divine and human natures, His role as our Redeemer, His suffering, His glory—these are truths we need to meditate on. The more we reflect on who Jesus is, the more we will begin to grasp the vastness of His love.
But this knowledge must go beyond the mind—it must stir our hearts. A small measure of heartfelt knowledge is far greater than a wealth of head knowledge without love. When we truly know Jesus, we cannot help but love Him deeply. And with that love comes a fullness, a satisfaction that the world cannot offer.
