Verse of the Day: Psalm 33:12 NKJV
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”
True Christianity is far from making us miserable. In fact, it elevates us to a position of unimaginable joy—making us sons and daughters of God. How could it be that God would reserve happiness for His enemies and give His own children only sorrow? Can those who reject Christ truly find lasting joy, while we, His beloved, walk in misery? Absolutely not! We are called to rejoice always in the Lord, for we have been adopted into His family. We cry out, "Abba, Father," not as slaves in fear, but as children who share in His inheritance.
Yes, we may face discipline and trials, but they are only tools in God’s hands to shape us into His righteousness. And through the Holy Spirit, we are comforted, knowing that we are His saved people. Christ, our Bridegroom, will not leave us in endless grief. We may suffer for a season, just as He did, but even now we are blessed with spiritual blessings that point us to our future inheritance.
Our joy isn't dependent on earthly circumstances, for our true riches are stored in heaven. We see glimpses of that eternal joy even now—like the first light of dawn that hints at the full sunrise to come. We are heirs of everlasting joy, and even now, we experience the comfort and peace of the Spirit, which is but a foretaste of the glory that awaits us. Truly, we can declare, "Happy are we, O people saved by the Lord!"
