Verse of the Day: 1 Peter 1:3-5 NKJV
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
The greatest privilege of life is salvation. We were saved not because of our works but because of His grace. We didn’t deserve to be saved, yet He saved us according to His great mercy. For this reason we should be forever grateful to God.
When you become born again, you are now a member of God’s family. Just as it is in the natural, as a member of God’s family you have an inheritance. - a heavenly inheritance. Through God’s mercy, we are born again to a living hope, that is, the hope of a heavenly inheritance. You have a living hope as a child of God. John talked about how God’s abounding love that qualified us to be His children and shortly after talked about hope. Having this heavenly hope helps us to live as we ought to. John said, you purify yourself because of the hope.
You are a child of God. You have been born into His family and you have hope. Christ in you is the hope of glory. Take time today to appreciate God for salvation.
