Verse of the Day: Psalm 1:1
”Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scorn"
The blessed man, described in Psalm 1, deliberately avoids the seat of the scornful. The seat of the scornful represents a gathering of those who mock and deride the things of God. It is a place where disrespect for the divine is celebrated, and the sanctity of God's truth is scorned. The scornful exhibit a higher grade of wickedness, reaching the pinnacle of depravity.
As followers of Christ, we are called to discern and distance ourselves from such assemblies. While the world may choose to blaspheme and belittle the sacred, the godly find solace in refraining from participating in the mockery of God's holiness.
In the face of scorn, let us stand resolute, holding fast to our reverence for God. The blessed man's choice of seat reflects a commitment to honour, respect, and uphold the sanctity of God's name.
