Verse of the Day: Psalm 1:1
”Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.”
Psalm 1 paints a vivid picture of a blessed individual, and it all begins with his walk—his conduct and consecration. The blessed man treads the path of piety, enabling him to discern ungodly counsel. The ungodly are adept at offering guidance, even to those who seek righteousness. Today, subtle counsels of the ungodly abound, steering individuals away from the straight path of righteousness. Though these counsels may sound good, they lack godly wisdom.
Reflect on the counsel the serpent offered Eve—an ungodly suggestion that prioritised pleasure over obedience to God's command. The aim of such counsel is to cast doubt on God's truthfulness. The ungodly employ counsel to entice the godly away from the righteous path. The blessed man, however, possesses the discernment to identify and resist these malevolent counsels.
As you navigate through life, stay attuned to the guidance you receive. Seek the counsel that aligns with God's Word and through the help of God’s Spirit discern the ungodly advice that may lead you astray. Consecration requires that you do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly.
