Verse of the Day: Matthew 5:6 NKJV
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled”
The above verse speaks to the deep longing within the human soul—a longing that cannot be satisfied by the fleeting pleasures of this world.
To hunger and thirst for righteousness is to possess a fervent and unrelenting desire for holiness of heart and life. It is a sincere yearning for deliverance from all sinful thoughts, words, and actions—a longing to be restored to the image of God in which we were created.
This hunger and thirst for righteousness is not a passing whim or superficial craving. It is a deep-seated longing that permeates our entire being—a holy ardor and vehemence of soul that drives us to pursue the highest standards of moral excellence.
In a world where many covet material possessions and earthly pleasures, may we stand out as those who earnestly seek after righteousness. May our desire for God's righteousness be relentless and unwavering, driving us to pursue holiness with all our hearts.
For those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, there is a promise of fulfilment. They shall be filled—not with temporary satisfaction, but with the abundant riches of God's grace and the fullness of His righteousness. In Christ, our deepest longings find their true satisfaction, and our souls are filled to overflowing with His goodness and mercy.
Let us, therefore, cultivate a hunger and thirst for righteousness that surpasses all earthly desires. Let us pursue holiness with passion and perseverance, knowing that in Christ, our hunger will be satisfied, and our thirst will be quenched.
