Verse of the Day: Ephesians 3:17 NKJV
“that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love.”
As believers, it is essential that we continually keep Jesus at the center of our hearts and minds. The more we focus on Him, the deeper our love and understanding of Him will grow. To have Jesus close, He must dwell within us, filling our hearts with His love to the point of overflowing. The apostle Paul’s prayer for us is that "Christ may dwell in your hearts," showing just how intimately Christ should be part of our lives.
Christ dwelling in our hearts means that He doesn’t just visit occasionally, but that He takes up permanent residence in the deepest part of our being. This isn’t about having Jesus only in our thoughts; it’s about having Him deeply rooted in our affections. Our love for Christ should be a constant flame, always burning brightly, fed by our unwavering faith. Just as a healthy root produces a beautiful flower, a strong faith produces a fervent love. If our love for Jesus begins to wane, it’s often a sign that our faith needs strengthening.
