Verse of the Day: Psalm 1:1-2 NKJV
“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.”
The first Psalm highlights the joy and blessing found in living according to God’s Word. David loved God’s law deeply, meditating on it constantly. This devotion to the divine will is what shapes a fruitful, meaningful life. Today, we are called to nurture the same passion for God's will, allowing it to guide our hearts and actions. A heart open to learning and committed to obedience keeps us pure and ready to discern the truths of Scripture, nature, and life.
The Psalm contrasts two paths: the one who avoids the ways of the wicked and the one who delights in God's law. Like a tree planted by streams of water, our lives can flourish, becoming fruitful and prosperous when rooted in God’s purpose. In contrast, a life disconnected from God’s will is like chaff blown by the wind—rootless, fruitless, and ultimately unfulfilled.
Are you deeply rooted in God’s Word?
