Persistence in Prayers (3)

Writer's picture: GOF MinistryGOF Ministry

Verse of the Day: Luke 18:1

”Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.

Still on Jesus’ parable about a persistent widow who continually sought justice from an unjust judge. The widow's unwavering approach to the judge highlights that persistence becomes a necessity when God is our only option. When there is no alternative, when every other door is closed, we find ourselves continually seeking God.

Do you find God to be your sole option? Are you willing to consider Him as your only recourse, excluding all other options outside of God? The widow's story challenges us to examine our dependency on God and to persist in prayer, recognising that He alone is our ultimate solution.

Don’t be discouraged. Do not neglect praying. Be in the spirit of prayer at all times. Like Paul wrote, “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Do not leave off praying.

Reflection

Take a moment to reflect on the following verses:

Luke 18:1-8; James 5:16-18; 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Prayer

Father, may I recognize You as my sole option in every circumstance. Empower me to persist in prayer, trusting that You are the ultimate solution.
