Our Eternal Destiny

Verse of the Day: 1 John 3:2-3 NKJV

“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”

Our highest calling and destiny as believers is to be shaped into the likeness of Christ. The Apostle reminds us that those who hold this hope purify themselves. The expectation of being with Christ and becoming like Him should anchor our souls and guide our lives as His followers.

To see Jesus face to face, to share in His eternal fellowship, and to be transformed into His image—this is the destiny of every believer. Yet, the full reality of this future remains beyond our understanding. We cannot fully imagine the nature of our resurrected bodies, the depth of our communion with holy beings, or the tasks we will undertake. But one thing we know for certain: we shall be like Him. That truth is more than enough to sustain us. Every hope and dream we’ve ever held will find its fulfilment in that glorious eternal day.

Reflection

Take a moment to reflect on the following verses:

Romans 8:29; 1 Corinthians 15:49; Psalm 17:15

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible hope of being with You and becoming like You. Help us to live in a way that reflects this future reality, purifying our hearts and lives as we look forward to the day we see You face to face.
