Verse of the Day: Jude 1:24 NKJV
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.”
The journey to heaven is a blessed path, but it is not without its dangers. While in one sense it is safe because God is with us, in another, it is filled with trials and challenges. One wrong move, one moment without God’s sustaining grace, and we could stumble and fall. Like the psalmist, we may often feel that our feet are slipping, and our steps are faltering. The road ahead is often slippery, and our strength is insufficient. Even on the smoothest paths, we find ourselves stumbling, weak and unsure.
In this journey of faith, we are like children just learning to walk, and without our heavenly Father holding us by the hand, we would surely fall. Every day, He holds us up with His strength, watching over us with loving patience. How often do we face temptations, prone to wander, and yet, He keeps us from falling! It is His power, not our own, that keeps us on the narrow path.
We also face many spiritual enemies who seek to trip us up and lead us astray. These unseen foes try to push us into sin, but God’s mighty arm is our defence. He is faithful to His promises and will guard us against the dangers we face. Though we are weak, His strength is perfect, and He will keep us from falling.
Let us therefore walk this path with humility, knowing our own weakness, but with great confidence in our Savioir’s power to keep us safe. We can trust Him to finish the good work He has begun in us.
