Verse of the Day: Romans 5:1 NKJV
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”
Being made right with God through faith brings us peace beyond measure. The accusing voice of conscience is silenced, and the weight of judgment shifts in our favour. While we look back on our past sins with sorrow, there is no fear of punishment, for Christ has fully paid the price for every wrong. He bore the consequences, and God, being perfectly just, will never demand payment twice for the same debt. Because of this, no one who trusts in Christ's sacrifice will ever face condemnation.
It is natural to believe that God's justice demands punishment for sin. Initially, this belief brings fear. But amazingly, the same truth—God's justice—becomes the very source of our peace. Without a Savior, we would be punished, but with Christ as our substitute, we are forever safe. God would have to deny His very nature to punish those for whom Jesus has already been punished. Because Christ took our place, we stand justified, freed from the penalty of sin.
With joy, the believer can declare, “Who can bring any charge against God’s chosen ones? No one—because God has justified us, and Christ has died and risen again for us.” Our hope is not rooted in our own goodness, but in the fact that while we are sinners, Christ is our righteousness. Our faith rests not on our own merit, but on who Christ is, what He has done, and what He continues to do for us. Because of Him, we can live with the confident hope of eternal life.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of justification through faith in Christ. Help us to rest in the peace that comes from knowing our debt has been paid in full. When guilt and fear arise, remind us that Jesus stood in our place. Strengthen our faith in what Christ has done, and keep our eyes fixed on Him, our righteousness.
