Verse of the Day: John 8:11 NKJV
“She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.””
Human mercy has its limits. In our interactions and stories we've heard, we often see how finite our compassion can be. Yet, our God is rich in mercy. The Bible tells us that His mercies endure forever! It is through His endless mercy that we are delivered from the power of sin and its consequences.
Consider the story of the woman caught in adultery, brought to Jesus by her accusers. They were more interested in trapping Jesus than in seeking justice. According to Roman law, they were not permitted to give capital punishment, yet the Law of Moses commanded stoning for such an offence. They questioned Jesus, hoping to catch Him in a legal or theological mistake. But Jesus chose a different path—one of mercy. He extended compassion to the woman and instructed her to sin no more.
We, too, are products of God's boundless mercy. As we express our gratitude for His mercy, let us commit to living holy lives before Him.
