Verse of the Day: Matthew 7:22-23 NKJV
“Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
In the passage we referenced, Jesus spoke about false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15). He explained that we can identify these false prophets by their fruits. This principle applies not only to recognising false ministers but also to identifying true ministers by their fruit.
This fruit is the inevitable result of who we are. Eventually - though it may take time for the harvest to come - the good or bad fruit is evident, revealing what sort of “tree” we are. This emphasises that when we come to Jesus, He changes us before sending us out to work for Him. He is particular about your fruit as His minister.
Are you producing good fruit in your life that reflects the character of Christ?
