Verse of the Day: Luke 12:15 NKJV
“And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.””
Greed is a sin that we must constantly be vigilant against, necessitating frequent reminders. We must beware of all excessive desires. Such a mindset is never satisfied; as soon as one goal is achieved, the heart seeks another. True life does not consist of abundance; a person lives on what they have, and all that is required is enough to sustain them.
Greed is the desire for more than what is necessary for a simple, sufficient life. It becomes idolatry because it drives God and the Lord Jesus out of the heart, leading to ruin. Jesus teaches that life is not about possessions. Many are unaware of this truth. No matter how much one accumulates, life itself remains a gift from God.

Prayer
Father, help us to guard our hearts against greed. Teach us to find contentment in Your provision and to value the life You have given us over the pursuit of material wealth.
