Verse of the Day: Ezekiel 36:26 NKJV
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”
A heart softened by God is deeply sensitive to sin. Even the slightest wrong thought or fleeting desire is enough to bring sorrow to such a heart before the Lord. While a hardened heart dismisses even great sin, a tender heart grieves over the smallest offence.
This heart is also gentle toward God's will. Our natural will is stubborn and resistant, much like unyielding iron, but when God transforms the heart, it becomes like pliable metal, easily shaped by His grace. The renewed heart is deeply affectionate toward Christ, burning with love for the Redeemer, in contrast to the cold, selfish heart that questions why it should love God at all. Instead, the tender heart cries out, "Lord, You know that I love You; help me to love You more!"
This softened heart is a great blessing, for it is where the Spirit of God dwells, where Jesus finds rest. It is ready to receive every spiritual blessing and is capable of producing every fruit that brings glory to God. A tender heart is the best safeguard against sin and the best preparation for heaven, ever watchful for the return of Christ.
Do you have this heart of flesh?
